About me
BAKAR'S EXOTIC ORCHIDS
[Disclaimer] [Privacy Policy] [Copyright]
The orchids you are about to view are from my own private collection and collections of photos that I have taken of orchids from all over the world.

Included also are orchid cut flowers from Malaysia together with orchid landscapes from many orchid shows in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, South America, the European Orchid Congress and the World Orchid Conferences

I hope you will enjoy viewing these  beautiful blooms from the world's largest flower family that I have come to love so much.

Regretfully due to an allergy to the agro chemicals that I have developed, I am now unable to grow them any more.

This Gallery is my way of continuing with my hobby.

I will strive to present the images in a manner that will do justice to these exceptionally varied and beautiful flowers.

The albums will be built up gradually as it involve a lot of work...so keep coming back.

ENJOY.
I have been growing orchids as a hobby for more than twenty five years. I was also a commercial orchid grower
with a 7 acre orchid farm growing commercial orchid cut flowers.

I was Vice President of the Commercial Orchid Growers Association of Malaysia for a period of 12 years until I call it quit in 2007.

I have attended World Orchid Conferences in Vancouver, Rio de Janerio, European Orchid Congress in Geneva and Copenhagen and was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 2004 World Orchid Conference in my home city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I had the pleasure of making many aquaintences of presidents and past presidents of the WOC, AOS, KEW, and many more from other orchid societies, growers and scholars from various parts of the world and especially in South East Asian countries.

My association with the world orchid community has been eventful, rewarding and satisfying.

Age is catching up with me and my allergy to all the orchid chemicals which does not want to go away made me finally decide to call it a day.
